Acting Speaker

A Member, other than the Deputy Speaker, who is called upon to take the Chair during the unavoidable absence of the Speaker. Usually, the Deputy or Assistant Deputy Chairman of Committees of the Whole is chosen, but any Member may act in this capacity.
