Member of Parliament
(1) Generally, a person either elected to the House of Commons or appointed to the Senate. (2) A person elected to a seat in the House of Commons as a representative of one of the 301 electoral districts into which Canada is divided. In debate, Members are identified not by their own names but by the names of their electoral districts.
